BB Again?
The first (and hopefully the last) entry of Princess Rebecca into the BB series—a line known for its revealing designs—brings us yet another controversial figure. With her light gladiator-inspired outfit, the pink-haired warrior is the next BB to review. Unfortunately, it’s another disappointing addition to the lineup.
Design and Aesthetics
From an aesthetic standpoint, this figure struggles in multiple areas. Rebecca's body proportions feel exaggerated to the point of losing the essence of her character. Her pose is unnatural and awkward, failing to capture the grace and strength of the gladiator princess we know from One Piece. Even finer details, like her ponytail, appear strangely thick and heavy, throwing off the balance of the figure.
Loss of Character Identity
Perhaps the biggest issue is that this doesn’t feel like Rebecca at all. Instead, it resembles yet another oversexualized, generic adaptation that prioritizes fan service over character integrity. The unnaturally large chest and the unnecessary emphasis on certain areas completely distort her original design. What should have been a tribute to the courageous and noble princess of Dressrosa ends up looking like an off-brand cosplay.
The BB Series Fatigue
At this point, it’s hard to ignore the growing fatigue among collectors. Many longtime Portrait of Pirates fans have already distanced themselves from the BB series, frustrated by its repetitive and shallow approach. This figure only adds to the disappointment, feeling more like a wasted opportunity than a meaningful addition to the P.O.P lineup.
