One Piece Day ’25 – P.O.P Takes the Spotlight
On August 9 and 10, One Piece Day ’25 brought fans together for another round of excitement—and of course, Megahouse couldn’t miss the chance to show off some love for their legendary Portrait of Pirates collection. Their display? A neat little cabinet dedicated to the P.O.P lineup, perfectly staged to reveal the brand-new Monkey D. Luffy Gear 2 figure and keep us updated on the upcoming releases.
Luffy Returns in Neo DELUXE Glory
To mark a huge milestone of five million P.O.P units sold, Megahouse decided to resurrect the Neo DELUXE line—dormant since 2015—with none other than Monkey D. Luffy in his iconic Gear 2. The figure, revealed during the event, bursts with dynamic energy, translating that steaming, high-speed transformation into incredible 3D form. It’s not just a comeback—it’s a statement piece for the line’s revival.
Final Looks at Upcoming Heavyweights
Beyond the big Luffy reveal, there wasn’t much in terms of brand-new surprises. But what we did get was equally important for collectors: the first official look at the final production bases for Marco “the Phoenix” – P.O.P MAS MAXIMUM and Jewelry Bonney – P.O.P Evolutionary History. Seeing these closer to their finished state means we’re inching toward their long-awaited release dates—starting at the end of this month.
The Bonney… or Bonny? Mishap
And because no event coverage is complete without a little eyebrow-raising moment—Megahouse somehow managed to misspell Jewelry Bonney’s name… as Bonny. Of all the things to slip through quality control, this is one of the last we’d expect. It’s Bonney, Megahouse. With an “e.” Please, let’s not make this a recurring collectible “feature.”
Wrapping It Up
One Piece Day ’25 wasn’t exactly loaded with P.O.P shockers, but it did deliver a major milestone celebration, the long-awaited Neo DELUXE revival, and a couple of satisfying updates on fan-favorite releases. Here’s hoping the next big event brings even more jaw-dropping reveals—preferably with all the names spelled correctly.
