Welcome, fellow collectors! Today, we're diving deep into the gorgeous world of the Pirate Empress, Boa Hancock, and her amazing collection of Portrait of Pirates (P.O.P.) figures. With seventeen total releases (counting the repaints), it’s time to settle the score! We've boiled it down to the ten unique sculpts and ranked them from the one that missed the mark to the one that achieved perfection. Get ready for some Empress worship!
10. The Figure That Went Too Far: Boa Hancock Ver.BB_SP - P.O.P Limited Edition
This figure has very exaggerated curves, and the expression is totally not Boa Hancock. It lacks creativity, having been released during a period when Megahouse seemed focused only on BB figures. Honestly, it felt like one too many Boa figures, and the overall look suffered.
9. Shattered Beauty: Boa Hancock Ver.3D2Y - P.O.P Limited Edition
Once again, the face sculpt isn't quite the Boa Hancock we know. The pose shows off exaggerated curves, and the shattered purple dress is mostly there just for fan service. This figure could definitely rank better today if the design choice had been handled in a smarter way! She stands with one leg raised and her hands near her hips, balanced on her black high heels. Her long black hair flows dramatically behind her.
8. The BB Hangover: Boa Hancock Ver.BB_EX - P.O.P Limited Edition
The BB nightmare continued with this Boa, arriving right after three color releases of the original BB figure. It’s not terrible, as Boa is posed reclining on her side in a red metallic bikini, resting her head on one hand. Her expression is mild, though the overall sculpt still has those exaggerated proportions. However, everything higher on this list is simply miles better!
7. A Shy Surprise: Boa Hancock Ver. White - P.O.P Limited Edition
This trio of figures was actually very well-received! The proportions look great, and Boa is posed in a way that suggests she's a little embarrassed or shy about her tiny white string bikini, which is super cute. She leans forward with her hips thrust out, looking off to the side with a slightly bashful expression. This is actually the only figure I own a repaint of—both the White and Purple versions!
6. The Original Splash: Boa Hancock Ver.BB - P.O.P Limited Edition
This was the very first BB (Bathing Beauty) release for the Empress, and it totally made waves! People went crazy for it when it hit the scene. Despite her body having somewhat too-large proportions, the kneeling pose is expertly crafted. Boa kneels on a clear base simulating water, looking over her shoulder with a focused expression, wearing a red bikini. My favorite color variant? Definitely the burgundy red!
5. Child of Amazon Lily: Boa Hancock - P.O.P CB-EX
It's the innocent child version of the figure! This sculpt is cute, colorful, and completely impossible to dislike. The young Boa stands barefoot, wearing a red jacket over her midriff and a purple polka-dot skirt. She holds up one hand with her index finger pointed, wearing a sweet, wide-eyed expression. It’s a joyful and welcome outlier among her many adult figures.
4. The Bridal Empress: Boa Hancock WEDDING Ver. - P.O.P Limited Edition
When this one came out, we were all thrilled! Boa looks truly majestic as a bride, captured in a simple yet elegant pose. She wears a shimmering white strapless wedding gown with long white gloves and a gold necklace. Her hair flows dramatically to one side as she holds a bright red and green flower bouquet. It’s a wonderful moment captured in plastic.
There is a tiny secret to this Boa Hancock figure! What makes this piece truly special is a delightful little NSFW content hidden beneath the dress. You have to be a little destructive to see it in person, or you could simply check out our article on Patreon for a peek! A classy tease for a magnificent figure!
3. Classic Arrogance: Boa Hancock - P.O.P Neo DELUXE
The Neo Deluxe is my personal favorite P.O.P. piece of Boa Hancock. This figure is just Boa at her best, radiating her signature arrogance and Pirate Empress aura. She stands tall, wearing her classic red and white Admiral-style coat draped over her shoulders and an embroidered red qipao-like dress with a high slit. The pose is static but somehow manages to say so much about her character! I absolutely love this one! The figure stands poised on a vibrant pink pentagonal base with her name inscribed on it.
2. The Grand Return: Boa Hancock "Pirate Empress" - P.O.P A x MAXIMUM
This figure arrived for the P.O.P. 20th Anniversary Celebrations, marking the Empress's return after seven long years without a new, non-fan service sculpt. She is captured in a dynamic action pose, twisting her body with her long purple qipao dress dramatically billowing around her. She’s surrounded by a massive, heart-patterned Salome who is mid-strike on the base. I adore this figure and the action-packed theme, but it still just falls short of the top spot—next!
1. Unquestionable Perfection: Boa Hancock - P.O.P Neo MAXIMUM
This is simply the perfect Boa Hancock figure, hands down. Sitting proudly on Salome almost like a throne, she is majestic, stoic, beautifully detailed, and perfectly colored. The sculpt captures a regal moment where she holds Salome's skull faceplate in her hand, framed by the snake's heart-shaped body behind her. It's an easy win for this piece, and its price tag proves it—it remains one of the rarest and most sought-after pieces in the entire P.O.P. lineup nowadays! A true masterpiece of the Pirate Empress!
The Empress's Final Decree
And there you have it, the definitive ranking of every unique Boa Hancock Portrait of Pirates release! From the experimental early days to the absolute masterpieces like the Neo Maximum, it is clear that Megahouse loves the Pirate Empress just as much as we do. While some figures might focus a bit too much on fan service, the top contenders truly capture the essence, power, and beauty of the Kuja Captain. Which one reigns supreme in your collection?
